　　陆胭脂被恶霸马狮朋逼娶为妾。洞房之夜，指为保贞节将朋灌醉，翌日朋因犯案捕入狱。惟脂未婚夫白菁华误会脂变心，隐居佛寺。后脂诞下华的骨肉萍生，却被朋妻强夺，脂无奈认作乳娘照顾亲儿。多年后，生长大成人。脂偶于佛寺与华重逢，尽释前嫌。朋出狱，为阻脂与华逃亡起冲突，混乱间错手杀妻，嫁祸于脂。此时，生已高中状元主理此案，却苦无对策，幸得姑婆梅姑扮鬼向朋套出真相。冤情大白，脂、华喜与生相认，一家团圆。
　　陸胭脂（吳君麗）與白箐華（任劍輝）自幼受到父母之命，媒酌之言，早已訂下鴛盟，陸父由于年邁老弱，加上禾田失收，致欠下馬獅朋（陸飛鴻）五百两銀，無力償還，被獅朋威迫胭脂委身為妾，于此同時，胭脂已為箐華懷有身孕嫁入馬家，洞房之夜他聞得獅朋于翌日糾党行劫，遂暗中報官，獅朋被判二十年牢獄，胭脂不久瓜熟蒂落，順利誕下麟兒馬小萍，但被獅朋正室（李香琴）威脅，只可作乳娘不許他們母子相認，否則要遂離馬家。箐華誤會胭脂已是馬家婦，到庤院作居士被世。
　　十六年後，小萍（林家聲）為考取功名托乳娘胭脂到庤院請箐華居士受教，二人重逢，胭脂終向箐華解釋前事。小萍高中狀元，同時獅朋亦提早出嶽，獅朋夲想帶走胭脂，卻誤殺妻子，後陷害胭脂，已小萍前途性命威脅胭脂認罪，胭脂無奈被判死刑。眾人苦無對策, 幸得姑婆梅姑（半日安）將此事告知小王爺扮鬼向獅朋套出真相，為箐華一家脫罪。將獅朋定罪，小萍與父母相認，小王爺賞識箐華才學，更被賜封。
